There is an unusual story attached to this burial vault. At the top there was a bell and a chain ran from it into the vault. The lady buried inside had a fear of being buried alive so she had organised that a bell would be installed so that she could ring it should awaken. She also organised that the coffin was fitted with an easy to open spring lock and that the tomb was built high enough to allow her to stand while awaiting for help to arrive.
